A Kent retailer is celebrating one of its biggest account wins, after linking with a major global company.
NCR (National Cash Registers), which provides technology support for purchasing and cash outlets, has instructed Beadles Volkswagen Van Centre in Dartford to supply up to 120 commercial vehicles in 2011 for its fleet.
The deal, worth approximately £7m over two years, will consist of Caddy BlueMotion van and Caddy Maxi Life.
John Gorringe, NCR’s UK supply manager, said: “This is a significant investment by NCR in the UK market and we’re delighted with the way everything has been handled.
“When considering the fleet, NCR has looked at its green credentials and this played a huge part in the company choosing the Volkswagen Caddy BlueMotion vans.
“The low CO2 emissions and high miles per gallon ratio, were key factors in NCR’s decision.
“But it was the customer service we received from Beadles Volkswagen Van Centre, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles and LeasePlan, that made it a simple decision to choose them.”
The deal has proved so successful that NCR is currently negotiating a deal to run Volkswagen vans throughout its European market, including Germany, France and Spain.
