Three generations benefit from larger home

Three generations of one family are living together comfortably in their new home thanks to a part exchange scheme from Persimmon Homes.

Natalina Clark and husband, James, along with their three children and Natalina’s parents, have taken up residence on Persimmon Homes’ development in Kirkhill Gorebridge to meet the demands of their large family.

Their new four-bedroom home, on the Dewar Park site, accommodates everyone, including grandparents, Joan and Paolo Romano, as the room which could have been a dining room has been made into a private living room for them.

Previously, the Clark household had been living in separate flats in the area and decided to sell these properties and move in together, to give everyone more space and help to increase quality family time.

Natalina, who works for the Scottish Government in Edinburgh said: “As a family we were looking at a bigger home to accommodate all of us in comfort. Part-exchange made the whole process easier for our two families to come under one roof.

“Our new home has improved our lifestyle, simple things like having an en-suite bathroom for my parents, just makes life smoother and easier. My father has recently retired and is delighted with our large kitchen which he plans to spend lots of time in.”

Commenting on Persimmon Homes East Scotland’s service throughout the moving and part exchange process, Natalina added:

“Persimmon provided a stress free service that allowed us to move into a bigger home by selling our old house and helping us to move into our ideal home without any hassle.”

By purchasing the home before it was completed the family were able to choose the kitchen units, tiles, bathroom suite and carpets, and add those special finishing touches to make it perfect for them.

Lorraine Clelland, Sales Director at Persimmon Homes East Scotland said: “We were more than happy to help Natalina and her family. An increasing number of families are giving consideration to this type of family arrangement.

“Persimmon Homes caters for this and we’re able to help people out of their old homes and move up and down the property ladder.”

The Persimmon Homes part exchange scheme uses the company’s expertise to help sell a purchaser’s existing house, saving time and fees. Whereas the Part Exchange Plus scheme, purchases the buyers existing home, making moving even easier.
