Wiggle Dragon Ride and Wiggle Etape Cymru sponsorship

WD-40 Multi-Use Product has announced that it is joining forces with Human Race, who organise the Wiggle Dragon Ride and Wiggle Etape Cymru cycling events, this summer.

For the second year running WD-40 have agreed to be an associate sponsor and will be  on hand to advise about bike maintenance and looking after the riders cycles in the secure bike park.

Wiggle Dragon Ride – Sunday 9 June

The Wiggle Dragon Ride is the UK’s most prestigious Sportive and returns for its 10th year on Sunday 9 June.

With two distances to choose from, 216km and 128km, the route begins in the beautiful Margam Country Park in Port Talbot. Cyclists will ride through the spectacular hills of South Wales and around the stunning roads of the Brecon Beacons and Black Mountain.

The route is challenging and includes some signature climbs not to be missed.

For the first time this year, the event will also host a 40km women only Cycletta to encourage new female cyclists into the sport.

Wiggle Etape Cymru – Sunday 8 September

Etape Cymru is the UK’s toughest closed road sportive based in North Wales. The 92-mile route will take place on Sunday 8 September beginning at the Bangor-on-Dee Racecourse in Wrexham.

The route starts and finishes in Wrexham and is extremely challenging. It passes through the Clwydian Range (an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty) and the Dee Valley area with stunning scenery. Cyclists will ride several well-known climbs during the course including the legendary King of the Mountain climb that is the Horseshoe Pass; where Team Sky rider and Wiggle Etape Cymru ambassador Geraint Thomas holds the record.

Each cycle route will be fully equipped with water stations, marked routes and state-of-the-art chip timing, as well as professional event photography.
