Top of the class in housebuilder health and safety

A lucky youngster from South Camberley Primary School has won a competition organised by a local housebuilder to design a poster to promote health and safety on the building site.

With Charles Church Southern’s Hoskins Court development in Camberley close to the school, the house builder tasked the children with producing the poster to encourage them to think about how they can be safe around the site.

Kyle Thompson, aged 8, worked his artistic magic to come up with a design for the premier house builder and was rewarded for his efforts with a printed copy of his design, an iPod and an art kit.

Tracey Lee, sales director at Charles Church Southern, said: “We constantly strive to build relationships with the communities in which our developments are located and work closely with a small number of schools hosting site visits and also seeking their assistance when naming sites.

“This time, we decided to asked local youngsters to come up with a poster designed to promote health and safety in the area, and the creativity demonstrated in many of the entries made it hard for us to decide on the winning artist.

“The entry from Kyle was a favourite because of his wonderful drawings and sensible warning signs. We hope that all pupils benefitted from exploring how to be safe around a building site when coming up with their designs.”

Kyle was presented with the prizes in a whole school assembly where he celebrated with his fellow pupils.

Hoskins Court, set off Park Road in Camberley, is a collection of two, three and four bedroom homes with on-site parking or a single garage and ideally located for commuting to London, shopping and outdoor activities.

The show home at the development is now open for home hunters to take a look around every Saturday and Sunday from 10am to 5pm.
