A prestigious housebuilder is getting into the saddle by sponsoring a new series of horse-riding competitions.
Charles Church South Midlands is putting up the cash for eight separate showjumping and dressage events being staged at an equestrian centre near Evesham.
The deal is the brainchild of Charles Church sales executive Madeleine Ettridge, who worked in the equestrian industry selling horses before moving into house sales.
Maddie, who is based at Charles Church’s Orchard Place development of executive homes in Evesham, said the company was delighted to be investing in a community event.
“We thought this would be a good way of promoting the Charles Church brand to a wider audience and benefitting the community at the same time. “
Maddie said the events would run for four months and all be held at the Allens Hill Competition and Livery centre at Pinvin, near Pershore.
The opening Charles Church Challenge showjumping event took place on September 8, this will be followed by more events on October 6, November 3 and December 8. The dressage competitions start on September 21, with events also taking place on October 19, November 16 and December 21.
Maddie said Charles Church would provide rosettes and prize money of £50 for each winner, £20 for second and £10 for third, with the winner’s saddle cloth being branded with the company’s logo.
There will also be a refreshment area with a Charles Church stand and promotional literature.
Adrian Smith, of Allens Hill, said he was delighted with the sponsorship and said the events would be open to riders of all ages.
“Maddie approached us with the offer and we were delighted to accept. It is always nice to have help from different people and extremely useful to us in reaching new markets.”
