Top 5 social media fails for a rainy Wednesday

With the click of a button we can all be guilty of a social media fail. The motto in the 8848 office is think, write, think again, think a final time then post.

To help with the mid-week slump here are some social blunders which could do with a rethink.

Miele – International Women’s Day

German appliances manufacturer Miele shared a photo to celebrate International Women’s Day but instead only reaffirmed a 1950s-era stereotype by placing women on top of a washing machine.

McDonald’s Black Friday

McDonald’s posted the ultimate Black Friday Twitter fail, by sharing an incomplete tweet.

But McDonald’s HQ saw the funny side following it up with a self-mocking tweet that even included some product placement.

Great British Bake Off finale

2017 will go down in history as a pivotal Great British Bake Off moment. Hours before the finale went to air, Prue Leith sent fans into meltdown by revealing the winner’s identity on Twitter for a total of 89 seconds!

It’s fair to say those 89 seconds were long enough for the spoiler to spread far and wide.

Snapchat Bot backfires

Snapchat ran a game titled ‘Impossible Choices’ asking users a series of questions, one of which included ‘would you rather slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown’.

Not the smartest move Snapchat!

Kim Kardashian Photoshop fail

Another day, another Photoshop controversy for the Kardashians. This time Kim fell under fire for photoshopping her Kimoji fragrances into old photos…which just seems weird and eagle-eyed fans were quick to notice!

Surely it was just easier to take a new photo?

Just remember always double-check before hitting the send button!
