Back by popular demand – the HiQ Grid Girl search is back!

The HiQ fast fit network is hoping to bring more glitz and glamour to the British Touring Car Championship grid with the return of its hugely popular Pink Grid Girl competition, following a year’s absence.

The official sponsors of the Teams’ Championship have brought back one of the most coveted accolades in motorsport, where one lucky lady will become the brand’s official Grid Girl at Silverstone on Sunday October 16.

The HiQ Pink Grid Girl was launched in 2009 to raise awareness of the fast fit network’s fundraising efforts for Breast Cancer Care.

Hundreds of hopeful young ladies entered in the hope of enjoying 15 minutes of fame in the fast lane, while winning a health spa break and the chance to be the official grid girl for racing star Tom Chilton.

Team Aon have again agreed to partner HiQ and allow the winning entrant to showcase one of their cars before the three races, in front of the live ITV cameras and thousands of TV viewers at home.

All budding HiQ pink grid girls have to do is send an image of themselves in pink regalia to HiQ, with a brief description why they would like to represent the fast fit network at Silverstone as it aims to hit the £100,000 mark for Breast Cancer Care.

A panel of judges will shortlist 10 entries, which will then be available for the general public to vote for online.

The overall winner will be presented with vouchers for a weekend health spa of their choice, along with the iconic HiQ pink race suit to keep.

The HiQ Pink Grid Girl competition will coincide with a huge fundraising drive at Silverstone on October 15 and 16, where giant foam spanners, pink hats and novelty headwear will be given away in return for donations to Breast Cancer Care.

Everyone will also be invited to dress in pink for the day to show their support like the last race weekend of the previous two seasons, when kind hearted race marshals also did their bit by dressing for the occasion, raising £1,000.

HiQ’s marketing manager Geraldine McGovern said: “Our HiQ Pink Grid Girl competition was so successful that we simply had to bring it back.

“We literally received hundreds of entries and thousands of votes. The initiative gave us vital exposure for a charity that is extremely close to our hearts.

“The winner will enjoy a day at Silverstone with us while working for Team Aon as an official grid girl. They will be part of a really special day and we hope as many people enter as possible.”
