A Bolton retailer has been boosted by the appointment of a new senior manager to its team.
Mike Lowe, from Chorley, is Smith Knight Fay Volkswagen’s new after sales manager, taking control of the company’s growing service department.
He is one of the most experienced service managers in the UK, having spent almost 40 years working in the motor industry.
The 56-year-old started his career as an apprentice technician in 1972, before progressing this career to workshop controller and service manager.
Barry Morrison, brand manager at Smith Knight Fay Volkswagen, is delighted with Mike’s appointment. He said: “Mike has vast experience with the Volkswagen brand and across the service sector of the business.
“With five decades of experience, Mike will provide invaluable experience to pass on to the team in Bolton.”
Mike said: “I am looking forward to the fresh challenge. The staff at Bolton are fantastic and I’m looking forward to working closely with them.
“There is a low staff turnover which provides a great platform for customers to build a rapport with staff and vice versa.”
