Business boost for van centre

A man who switched the farm yard for the sales floor has joined the senior management team of a local business.

Cheltenham Volkswagen Van Centre has appointed Gareth Thomas, as its new corporate sales specialist, maintaining business relationships with the van centre’s customers.

His main responsibilities will be ensuring that Cheltenham Volkswagen Van Centre’s customers receive the very best service and increasing business in the light commercial fleet sector within Gloucestershire.

Before making the move to the automotive industry the 41-year-old, gained his degree in Agricultural science and technology in 1991 and previously worked as an animal nutritionist for five years, specialising in the nutrition of farm animals.

Gareth is no stranger to the industry having spent 15 years looking after business customers with other household automotive brands.

Gareth said: “I enjoy working in the automotive industry and I’ve moved to Cheltenham Volkswagen because I want to work with commercial vehicles.

“The commercial vehicle sector is very different to cars, the area I previously worked in. I’m looking forward to the challenge and working with all the different local businesses Cheltenham Volkswagen Van Centre works with.”

Head of business for Volkswagen Van Centre Cheltenham, John Seddon, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Gareth to the team; he certainly will be a great business asset.”
