Anton Du Beke wants children to keep the art of handwriting alive over the summer holidays.
The super smooth tv personality has become the face of a magical new writing competition launched by pen company uni-ball in an attempt to get the nation’s children to evoke their imagination.
“I want kids to ditch their computer consoles and television sets,” commented Anton. “The art of handwriting is so important. It brings many benefits to youngsters and when linked to reading can reinforce achievement.”
“Writing is a vital skill for life and builds character,” said Stuart Barker, uni-ball’s marketing manager. “We have received some high profile support for the campaign and hope children embrace what we are trying to achieve by taking part in the competition.”
uni-ball’s writing competition requires children to describe how they would spend the day with their favourite storybook character. One overall winner will receive a back to school hamper filled with technological treats and the first 200 people to send in an entry will receive a uni-ball fanthom pen.
