Uponor has appointed industry stalwart, Mark Tudor, as Sales Director for its UK and Ireland business and made two other senior appointments.
Mark joins Uponor from EcoTherm where he was responsible for the restructure and re-organising of the commercial department, which included the development of CRM, website and a rebrand. He brings with him over 24 years experience in the plumbing and plastic piping market where he progressed his career from sales rep to sales director.
Speaking about his appointment, Mark commented: “I am very excited to be joining Uponor. It is a very well respected organisation and has shown great innovation in the products it has bought to market. I am looking forward to continuing to introduce new product ranges as well as working in new markets to support customers.
“Uponor has a great reputation for customer contact and high levels of customer service so I will ensure that this continues to be developed and as a company we can add value to the supply chain.
“It is a difficult time for the market sector as a whole at the moment but Uponor continues to move forward and innovate and I am looking forward to the challenge ahead.”
Mark will work closely with the UK and Ireland sales team, the business development team and will also be responsible for the management of a number of key account customers.
Concluding, Mark says: “This is a very exciting time for the company and I hope to drive the business forward in a number of ways including increasing our portfolio of over the counter sales, building our brand awareness and growing our renewable energy product offering.”
Also joining Uponor’s sales team is Group Key Account Manager, Andy Thompson.
Having previously worked in the building supplies industry for over 20 years, Andy is well respected for his market knowledge and experience. He is now responsible for sales, terms negotiation, promotions and sales strategy with Uponor’s key account customers.
He says: “I believe that building strong and healthy working relationships has always been instrumental to sales success and I hope to bring this philosophy to the team at Uponor.
“I hope that by striving to work alongside our customers to help them achieve their goals the result will be increased organic sales and improved profitability as well as added growth through bringing new products to market.”
Finally, Mark Dowdeswell rejoins Uponor’s UK based team as Applications Manager responsible for the plumbing market, following a secondment to the company’s group operations where he was instrumental in bringing the company’s innovative RTM fitting system to market.
Mark has been with Uponor for seven years in both regional sales manager and area manager roles. He has more than 20 year experience in the commercial market having worked at merchant branches including several years as branch manager.
This extensive employment history gives Mark a clear understanding of the requirements both of the sales team and of merchants and customers, something he says will be valuable in his new role: “I aim to bring together Uponor’s complete family of products and develop installation solutions that benefit our customers and installers.
“My knowledge of the group’s operations and approaches to market will also allow me to align the UK product offering with the rest of Europe.”
