HiQ snooky loopy about Breast Cancer Care sponsorship

The HiQ fast fit network is hoping that some explosive cue power will help to chalk up thousands more pounds for Breast Cancer Care, after agreeing to sponsor a high profile snooker tournament for the first time.

Bosses at HiQ have got a big kick out of a player shirt sponsorship deal with the Kay Suzanne Memorial Trophy in Gloucester, which runs from October 7 to October 9.

All of the top 96 players in the world will be potting balls with HiQ on their sleeves during the event, as the network attempts to generate more awareness of its efforts to compile a huge break of its own for Breast Cancer Care – in the shape of £100,000.

The tournament, featuring Ronnie O’Sullivan, Jimmy White and current world champion John Higgins, is already being devoted to the nearby Haven Hospice in memory of South West Snooker Academy’s founder Paul Mount’s sister Kay Suzanne, who lost her life to the illness.

It is hoped that with 37 live matches being screened globally to up to 30,000,000 people, HiQ will be able to point them in the direction of their www.justgiving.com/BeatriceHiQ  page where more funds can be racked up.

HiQ’s retail systems manager Matt Heaton said: “We couldn’t be more thrilled to be official shirt sponsors of this event, not least when all the players will be taking to the table in pink shirts in aid of a charity so close to our hearts.

“It is a fantastic opportunity and we can’t wait to see so many household names with the HiQ branding on their sleeves during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

“We are more than happy to teach them a thing or two about vehicle repair and car maintenance too, if they ever run out of position away from the table!”

The HiQ fast fit network, which boasts 150 centres nationwide, is pulling out all the stops for the cause with a host of fundraising ideas throughout the month of October to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

HiQ will be donating £1 from every tyre sold online throughout the month and will be ‘going pink’ at dozens of its centres with individual giveaways before launching a huge fundraising drive at Silverstone for the final round of the British Touring Car Championship on October 16.

Matt added: “Breast Cancer Care is a charity close to our hearts, and provides so much vital support for those affected by breast cancer, their family and friends.

“We also want to change perceptions about the fast fit industry, where motorists associate it with being a male dominated, masculine industry.

“HiQ is doing more than anyone to make women feel comfortable, confident and informed when visiting a centre, and our charity links with Breast Cancer Care is testament to this.”

The £70,000 raised so far has already paid for the equivalent of 1,274 appointments with Breast Cancer Care’s Headstrong service, or 637 places at group therapy information sessions, or 2,826 calls to the charity’s free confidential helpline.
