A fashion show organised by a Cardiff car retailer was hailed a huge success, attracting over 100 guests.
The Sinclair Volkswagen event, which was supported by local businesses, marked the launch of Volkswagen’s latest iconic Beetle and brand new compact car, the Volkswagen up! to its customers.
The fashion show’s theme was ‘Through the Decades’ celebrating the Beetle’s rich heritage, and included catwalk creations from the 1940s to the latest cutting-edge couture.
Guests were able to browse the array of displays supported by local businesses including Moda Collections, Clive Rangers, Lancome from House of Fraser, St David’s Hotel and Spa and tasty cup cakes from Baked by Mel.
Richard Seaward, brand manager at Sinclair Volkswagen Cardiff, said: “The fashion show was a huge success and we’d like to thank everyone for attending, and especially all the local businesses who came and supported us.
“We’re extremely pleased to introduce our two brand new cars; the new version of the Beetle which is set to mark another chapter in the history of this automotive icon, and the brand new up!”
The South Wales retailer, which also has sites in Newport, Bridgend, Port Talbot, Swansea and Neyland, has already received a high volume of enquiries for the new vehicles.
The up! is Volkswagen’s smallest compact car. At 3.54 metres long and 1.64 metres wide the four-seater is surprisingly spacious with a colourful interior.
For the first time in a Volkswagen, the up! features the Maps & More system, as an optional extra, which is a mobile Infotainment Device developed to manage all telephone calls plus navigational and entertainment needs.
In conjunction with legendary guitar firm, Fender, the new generation Beetle drivers can opt for the revolutionary new sound system.
Richard added: “The Beetle has a sportier look and we expect fans who are music lovers will be delighted with the 400W output of the Fender sound pack and subwoofer.
