On the second anniversary of its launch, staff at Volkswagen Leicester Van Centre are celebrating by announcing upbeat sales figures.
Despite the on-going economic challenges Leicester Van Centre, situated on Margaret’s Way in the city, is going from strength to strength. During 2011 – its first year of trading – new and used van sales topped £3.2m and this year the business has experienced an equally buoyant Q1, achieving sales revenues in excess of £1.4m.
The California model – Volkswagen’s iconic camper van – is currently proving to be the most popular model at the dealership with eleven models sold during March and April alone, generating £530,000 for the business.
Stuart Carpenter, sales manager at Volkswagen Leicester Van Centre, said: “Being a relatively new retailer, we are really pleased to have had such a buoyant first year of trading and to have improved on this success during the first quarter of 2012.
“These figures have boosted the whole workforce who remain focused on ensuring that Volkswagen Leicester Van Centre is the first port of call for any commercial vehicle customer.”
Due to the success, the dealership has also announced it has extended its opening hours and is now open until 6pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 4pm on Saturdays.
