Trio of young recruits join Cheltenham business

During times of rising unemployment, particularly amongst the young, which according to some quarters is at a 17-year high, Volkswagen Van Centre Cheltenham is bucking the trend and has recruited three trainees into full time positions.

Joining Volkswagen Van Centre Cheltenham, situated on Manor Road, is 19-year-old Joe Cook as trainee parts advisor, 22-year-old Luke Rose as trainee sales executive and 25-year-old James Tremlett as trainee service advisor.

John Seddon, head of business at Volkswagen Van Centre Cheltenham, said: “We were inundated with applications for the trainee positions proving young people in Gloucestershire have an insatiable appetite to forge a career out for themselves.

“What impressed me so much about this trio was their passion to succeed and commitment to learning and developing their skill-set.

“What we are offering them is more than a job, but a career. We hope our new recruits grasp this opportunity and ultimately, progress within the Van Centre into long-term
positions of responsibility and authority.”
