Swansea business gives Race for Life a boost

A Swansea business has helped raise £1,000 for a cancer charity after doubling the sponsorship from all the staff who ran this year’s Race for Life event.

The team of seven ladies from Sinclair Volkswagen successfully completed the Cancer Research UK race for the first time.

Team member and Sinclair fleet support assistant, Rosalind Dicks, believes the ladies will return next year as they enjoyed it so much and have plans to raise even more money.

She said: “We gave ourselves the name the Sinclair Angels 2012 and all thoroughly enjoyed the event, the day was warm and sunny and the atmosphere was amazing.

“Cancer has affected us all on a personal level so we were determined to
help raise awareness and as much funds as possible for such a worthy cause.

“We are delighted that our employers supported us in such a generous way and this really spurred us on. It may have been the first time we have entered but it will definitely not be our last.

Jeremy Phillips, brand manager for Sinclair Volkswagen Swansea, added: “The ladies did themselves proud and it’s great to know as a business we helped to raise extra funds for them.”
