The longest serving sales executive at Colbornes Volkswagen in Guildford has celebrated his 18th anniversary of joining the business.
Mike Payne, sales executive at the Slyfield Green Industrial Estate-based Volkswagen retailer, recently celebrated his 18th year with the company on the same day of his 50th birthday with some of his closest friends from the business.
During his time with Colbornes Volkswagen, Mike has delivered in excess of 5,000 Volkswagens to customers and says he is still as enthusiastic about cars as the day he started in 1994.
Commenting on his achievement, he said: “During my time here the cars are far more advanced, and the technology has raced ahead, but the same Volkswagen and Colbornes values still hold firm.
“I have had an amazing time working here over the years and it’s been really interesting to see how cars have evolved over time and how the industry has changed. I’ve made a lot of friends and also seen a lot of faces come and go but I’ve never felt the need to move on, as this company has such a good reputation and it’s an enjoyable place to work with a really great team. I have always loved cars and there’s nothing else I would rather do.”
