Selco Builders Warehouse has announced it is to become the main sponsor of Rugby League Club London Broncos, extending its association with the club for at least two years.
The announcement was made at the company’s Hanworth branch where a number of the team’s key players met employees and customers.
Selco’s partnership with the only London-based rugby league team started during the 2012 season when the building supplies specialist sponsored the Broncos for the final seven games of the season.
The new agreement will see London Broncos supporting the Selco business and branch network development plans whilst Selco will support the Club’s drive to increase supporter numbers at the Stoop for the coming season.
Chris Cunliffe, Selco’s managing director said: “Our initial involvement with the London Broncos at the end of the 2012 season proved to be very successful so it was an easy decision to continue the sponsorship for a further two years.
“The sport is a great vehicle to increase our brand awareness and we have enjoyed good brand exposure during our seven match sponsorship in the 2012 season.
“Rugby League has an obvious synergy with our business as it is very much focused on team work and being a team player. The sport has an unmistakable family feel which we are proud to be part of and we look forward to working with the club and the team on a number of initiatives and activities in the coming months.”
Planned joint marketing initiatives and promotions include ticket incentives, player appearances, social media engagement and match day hospitality making the most of the facilities on offer at the Twickenham Stoop stadium in south west London.
Selco will also have prominent shirt branding to communicate its association with the club and, as part of this sponsorship, Siniat, the plaster board supplier to Selco, will also become a shirt sponsor with its logo featured on the back of players’ shirts at least until the end of the 2014 season.
Gus Mackay, Chief Executive at London Broncos, said: “Today’s announcement marks a significant step forward for the club off the field and I’m delighted we have agreed a two year deal with Selco and Siniat.
“This partnership gives all parties a good opportunity to increase their brand profile across the UK. We very much welcome all the customers and employees to London Broncos over the next two years.”
