Uponor helps St Andrews rugby club tackle sponsorship

Lutterworth-based Uponor has thrown Rugby St Andrews Rugby Club a sponsorship lifeline with a donation to fund new kit for the 2012/13 season.

David Eaton, chairman of Rugby St Andrews RFC, is grateful to Uponor’s support which he said is crucially important, especially during the challenging economic climate. He comments: “Put simply, sponsorship is our lifeblood and without funding from generous firms such as Uponor, we wouldn’t be able to stay afloat.

“The cash injection from Uponor will help cover the cost of new kit for the first team and will also be used to support the junior team, helping to guarantee the future of the sport for years to come.”

Martin Allen, who recently joined Uponor as training manager, said: “We are immensely proud to be associated with such a prestigious club. In my position as training manager, I understand the importance of nurturing talent and this is why we are so pleased to be in the position to help players across a whole range of ages at the Club.”

Dave Rudd, design technician at Uponor and scrum half at St Andrews Rugby Club, continues: “Once we found out that the first team was in need of funding, we were determined to help out. We pride ourselves on supporting the local community wherever possible and we’ll watch with even more interest how the Club performs this season!”
