Development of the year title for Norwich site

Staff at Charles Church Anglia are celebrating after scooping a prestigious ‘Development of the Year’ award for their Wentworth Gardens site in Norwich, along with an individual award nomination for site manager Paul Tull.

The Local Authority Building Control (LABC) Awards for Excellence are presented in recognition of high technical standards and build quality, project management and customer service.

Andrew Fuller, managing director of Charles Church Anglia, said: “Wentworth Gardens has been a very successful site for us, in a great location close to Norwich centre, popular with house hunters and well received by the wider community.

“We are thrilled to receive the LABC Award for Development of the Year, which reflects the attention to detail and highest standards of customer service you can expect from a Charles Church property.

“Paul’s nomination for the Regional Site Manager Award for East Anglia rewards his work to ensure the highest standards are met on site. He has been invited to attend the formal awards ceremony later this month as a guest of LABC Warranty, where the winner will be announced, so we all wish him the very best of luck.

“Our teams fully endorse the LABC’s philosophy of supporting technical performance and innovation, ensuring Charles Church homes meet the Code for Sustainable Homes, and are beautifully designed and appointed.

“The award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the teams at Wentworth Gardens and at our head office in Lowestoft.”

Sites nominated for LABC awards are visited, audited and shortlisted by LABC’s Warranty Technical Directors against a set list of criteria.

Mike Swatton, business development director for LABC Warranty, added: “From around 2,000 eligible contenders building over 21,000 units with LABC Warranty, Charles Church at their Wentworth Green site have clearly demonstrated their commitment to quality.”

Wentworth Gardens saw off competition from throughout England and Wales to scoop the Development of the Year prize in the 11-50 units category.

The development provides a range of five bedroom family homes, all cleverly designed to blend in with surrounding architecture. With prices starting at just £292,760, Wentworth Gardens offers the rare opportunity to enjoy living close to the heart of the thriving city of Norwich and all the benefits of a top-quality, reliable and energy efficient new home.
