National recognition for Derby business

A Derby business is celebrating after receiving national recognition for its work in 2012.

Volkswagen Imperial Commercials in Derby was named runner up at the Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles ‘Most Valued Van Centre’ 2012 annual award ceremony, recently held in Edinburgh.

The business, based on Ashbourne Road, competed against 76 other UK Volkswagen van centres for the award, which measures customer satisfaction and business performance.

David Starr, head of business at Imperial Commercials, said: “We are delighted to have received this honour as it recognises the best van centres in the country.

“Winning the silver award is testament to the teams’ hard work as they continually strive to deliver the best service. It makes me very proud and honoured to be working alongside such a dedicated group.

“In the current economic climate, it’s vital for businesses to ensure consumers are pleased with the service they receive, therefore it is essential we have a motivated and diverse team that all have the same common goal.

“It is fair to say that this was truly a team effort in every sense. Everyone at the dealership should be proud of their collective achievement.”

Volkswagen Commercials Vehicles closely monitors all aspects of its van centres, from customer satisfaction and aftersales through to sales and key business performance. Scores are collated throughout the year, accumulating in the annual result.

At the awards, which were hosted Myleene Klass, Volkswagen Imperial Commercials in Derby was also named as winner of ‘Overall Most Valued Van Centre’ award in the last quarter of 2012. The business has previously been awarded the ‘Most Valued Van Centre’ for its marketing strategy in 2010 and 2011.
