Higgs lawyer crowned Birmingham young legal professional of the year

A corporate lawyer at Midlands law firm Higgs & Sons is celebrating after being crowned Birmingham Young Legal Professional of the Year at a prestigious awards ceremony.

Jamie Partington received his award at the Birmingham Young Professional of the Year (BYPY) dinner held at Birmingham’s ICC.

Speaking of the award, which was presented by Andy Street, managing director of the John Lewis Partnership and chair of the GBS LEP, Jamie said: “I am delighted and honoured to have won the legal category. I’ve worked hard to offer advice and support to the region’s businesses and entrepreneurs and to receive this recognition is fantastic. It was also a real pleasure meeting the judging panel.

“I was amongst some very strong competition at the awards and would say that any one of the people nominated could have won. I’d like to thank Birmingham Future and the BYPY Committee for their on-going hard work and support. They do a fantastic job and the night will once again go down as one of the events of the year.”

Nick Taylor is head of Higgs’ corporate team. He said: “The award is great news for Jamie and also for the firm. We pride ourselves on recruiting the very best people and we’re delighted to have Jamie on our team.”

Birmingham Young Professional of the Year (BYPY) is a highly prestigious awards ceremony that recognises and rewards the most talented individuals within Birmingham’s business community. The competition is run by Birmingham Future, a membership organisation that provides a platform for the city’s young professionals to become Birmingham’s business leaders.

Higgs & Sons works from two offices in the Black Country – Waterfront Business Park in Brierley Hill and Kingswinford. The firm employs over 200 people, which includes 100 specialist lawyers.
