Coventry development receives top building award

A new homes development in Coventry has received a top building industry accolade in recognition of its high quality workmanship and site management.

Bannerbrook Park, on Astoria Drive and Monticello Way, was rewarded with an NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award for the outstanding work of Persimmon Homes site manager Graham Inns and his team.

Quality Awards are selected by National House-Building Council building inspectors and inspection managers, who judge winners on meticulous and consistent attention to detail, quality of workmanship on the site, excellent leadership, technical expertise and demonstrating their commitment to robust health and safety processes.

Graham Inns said: “This isn’t our first award, in 2012 Venue at Bannerbrook Park also won both our Site Construction and Site Sales Team of the year awards. Bannerbrook Park is a fantastic site where our consistent approach is delivering a quality product.  The stunning development has eye-catching exterior designs and spacious interiors.”

“We’ll continue a high standard of building at Bannerbrook Park, where we are currently working on the third phase. We expect to be at the site until 2015 and hopefully we’ll win a few more Pride in the Job awards along the way.”

Richard Oldroyd, managing director of Persimmon Homes South Midlands, added: “A Pride in the Job Award is the highest industry accolade a site manager can receive.

“Persimmon Homes demand the very highest standards of quality and service for customers, and Richard’s contribution is a superb example of this philosophy.”

Bannerbrook Park is a phased development which will ultimately deliver almost 1,000 new homes in Coventry.

Richard added: “We are very proud of the progress made so far by our award-winning construction team at Bannerbrook Park.

“When complete, the development will benefit from an environmentally-friendly drainage system of attenuation lagoons, significant open spaces and play areas in addition to those already available to residents, and safe routes for both people and wildlife.

The NHBC Pride in the Job Quality Award identifies the unique role of site managers in the construction of new homes from start to finish and who influence the overall quality of the finished product.

The awards programme is the only UK-wide competition dedicated to recognising site managers who achieve the highest standards and it has been instrumental in driving up the quality of new homes for 33 years, ensuring homeowner confidence in award-winning developments.

Pete Watton, Regional Director for NHBC, the UK’s leading standards setter and warranty provider for new UK homes, said: “Winning a Pride in the Job Quality Award is a major achievement for any site manager. Graham Inns is at the top of the game, ensuring that the homes created are of the highest standards. Graham can be truly proud of this accolade.”

“For over three decades, Pride in the Job has been a foundation of NHBC’s work to improve housing standards, encouraging best practice on site. The homes our Quality Award winners have built are without doubt among the best in the UK.”

Persimmon Homes South Midland is delivering quality new homes across Birmingham, Coventry, Malvern, Stratford, Redditch, Evesham, Marston Green, Ross on Wye and Worcester.
