KICK START TO SCHOOL HOLIDAYS WITH SUMMER FUN AT BANNERBROOK PARK

School’s out for summer, and what better way to celebrate than with a fun filled holiday club sponsored by UK’s leading house builder.

Persimmon Homes and sister brand Charles Church helped the school children of Coventry to kick start their summer holidays with three exciting mornings of fun, adventure, games and prizes at Bannerbrook Park.

Over 100 youngsters, aged between eight and sixteen signed up to be part of a fun filled three day summer club, last week from Wednesday 24th to Friday 26th July.

Alison Reading, Sales and Marketing Director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands says: “We were delighted to be asked to support such a great community event in an area where we are currently developing new homes.  I was particularly honoured to be invited to present the prizes to the young winners of the ‘It’s a knockout’ tournament.”

The holiday club was organised by the Curate of St Andrew’s Church, Reverend Alex Randle-Bissell, who lives on the development with his wife, Bev and children, Jacob and Bronte. Alex explained: “We have organised these events to reinforce the sense of  community here at Bannerbrook Park.  We have the perfect location for this type of activity and I feel it is a great way to utilise the stunning park at the heart of this development and I am extremely grateful to Persimmon Homes for their support.”

Alex added: “We had a fantastic range of activities including a scavenger hunt, breakdancing workshops, a ‘Great British Bake Off’, basketball coaching, theatre workshops and games. On Friday, the summer club culminated in an exciting ‘It’s a Knockout’ tournament’ involving all of the children.”

The activities continued throughout the weekend with the Bannerbrook Park Community Day involving the entire community who enjoyed the face painting, bouncy castles, family games, the  farmers market and crafts stalls.  The day was rounded off with a huge ‘cook out’ in the Park  where residents were invited to bring along disposable barbeques, food, drinks family and friends to enjoy an al fresco evening of live music and community games.

Alex: added: “To celebrate the success of the entire event we invited the community to join us in a special service in the Marquee on the park on Sunday morning.”
