New homes in demand as Help to Buy proves a hit with buyers in Bowburn

A new residential development in Bowburn is proving a hit with buyers as work gets under way to bring much needed housing to the area.

Persimmon Homes Teesside has seen a huge interest in The Grange, off Durham Road, as first time buyers and families take advantage of the benefits from buying off-plan.

The Government’s Help to Buy scheme has already proved a hit with buyers as six properties have already been sold through the scheme. Now people are being urged to go and visit the development before the showhome opens in September to take their pick of the very best plots and to benefit from pre-showhome prices.

Christine Cooper, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes Teesside, said: “This development is really coming along now and is generating a lot of interest. More than 120 three and four bedroom homes will be built all offering great family accommodation. We are very excited about the development and looking forward to the showhome opening.”

Prices start from £122,450 for a three-bedroom semi-detached home which has a spacious lounge and large kitchen / diner with doors leading into the garden.

There are several property designs including a three storey home which boasts a spacious top floor with master bedroom, dressing room and en suite, leading up a £214,950 four bedroom home which has a kitchen / dining room with patio doors to the garden and a large family lounge.

Under the Help To Buy scheme, the Government provides an equity share loan of up to 20 per cent of the purchase price, with the buyer paying a five per cent deposit while raising a mortgage for the remainder. Help To Buy is available to everyone, not just first-time buyers, on new-build properties up to £600,000.
