A manager from a Wigan business is celebrating after winning a national motoring award for the second year running.
Allen Blake, has been crowned Motor Trader magazine’s number one Sales Manager for 2013 after demonstrating his strong sales and management skills at Corkills Volkswagen in Wigan.
Regarded as the biggest annual award event in the automotive retail sector, the Motor Trader Industry Awards recognises the excellence and innovation within the motor industry.
The awards ceremony took place in grand style at the Grosvenor House Hotel in the heart of London’s West End on Wednesday 10 July.
The 35 year-old, who joined the Wigan business two and half years ago, was put forward for the award by Corkills brand manager, Jacqui Kaye, who enthused: “Allen is an asset to our team. He is a great example of how successful management helps to maintain a successful business, and we couldn’t be prouder.”
After being shortlisted from over 70 applicants, Alan underwent a rigorous interview process where the award judges evaluated each applicants service standards, skills and customer satisfaction records.
Speaking of the award, Allen said: “I was delighted to have won this award last year, but winning two years in a row is overwhelming. I’m speechless.
“I love my job and have always enjoyed working in the motor industry so it makes me proud to know that I am officially good at what I do.”
Jacqui added: “We are delighted that Allen has been given the prestigious accolade of Sales Manager of The Year. Winning the same award two years running only confirms to us that he is the very best in his field.”
