Help not only to buy but to wed!

When she picked up the keys to a brand new house on Merseyside, Erica Bradford got more than just a new home – she also got a proposal of marriage!

Because little did Erica know, boyfriend Mark Fletcher and Persimmon Homes sales advisor David Eatock had been quietly plotting behind her back to make it a moment she will remember forever!

“We’d picked up the keys to our new house on Vulcan Park and I was so excited,” said Erica. “The house was everything I’d dreamt of and I was so looking forward to moving in.

“Then as Mark opened the front door I could hear some cheesy music playing in the background – I think it was Celine Dione – and I remember thinking the cleaners must still be in the house. Then I saw the rose, the champagne and ring box and before I knew what was going on, Mark had whispered THE question in my ear…”

Happily a stunned Erica said yes – and was even more thrilled when Mark repeated the magical question down on one knee.

Mark and Erica have been together just under a year and were living together with Erica’s three year old son Joel in a house in Wigan.

“We were looking for a new build property, because we really wanted to use the Help To Buy scheme. We knew quite a bit about the scheme, and already had enough money for the five per cent deposit.

“Using Help To Buy was the easiest thing in the world! With Persimmon’s help we literally didn’t have to do a thing. They put us in touch with their financial advisor, sorted out all of the paper work and here we are with the home of our dreams. I really couldn’t be happier.”

Erica and Mark paid £146,500 for their three bedroom semi-detached Farthing style house, with en suite and single detached garage. Over two floors, the property has a spacious lounge with patio doors to the garden and dual aspect kitchen/dining with a second set of patio doors onto the garden, and offered the family their ideal living space.

Vulcan Park offers a range of properties to suit everyone, from three bedroom semis and town houses to three and four bedroom detached homes, all set within the popular location of Newton Le Willows. A number of buying incentives are available at the development, including Help To Buy, Home Change and part exchange. The development is open from Thursday to Monday, 11am to 6pm, and has a Roseberry show home and Hanbury view home.

Mark are Erica are now settled in their new home, and busy saving for their wedding, which they hope will be in 2015.
