Yorkshire business sees bright economic future

A Yorkshire business is predicting a bright future for the regional economy after welcoming a strong increase in sales figures for the second half of 2013.

The rise was in sales of new vehicles at Volkswagen Van Centre (West Yorkshire), which also saw a fifteen per cent rise in sales at its approved used van centre, Vancraft, based in Birstall.

And head of business, Andrew Caygill, is expecting further increases throughout 2014.

“The green shoots are certainly showing in the regional economy and people and businesses in the region are certainly thinking about the future.

“The market has been tough but by providing such a reputable and reliable brand and by focusing on customer service we feel this has helped van operators in the decision making process.

“We’re seeing a significant increase in enquiries by companies, some for orders in 2013, but most for 2014.”

According to Andrew the growth in the economy is being put down to major industries experiencing more confidence.

But he’s aware that without a good product to provide customers, his business wouldn’t be as successful as it is currently.

He added: “The construction industry has previously been a big buyer of commercial vehicles and recently we’ve seen an increase in enquiries and orders from this sector.

“We have Transporter, Crafter, Caddy and Amarok customers to thank for our success. In addition, low running costs, strong residual values and affordable finance offers continue to make Volkswagen vans a wiser, more desirable investment.”
