Hat trick of industry awards for Norwich site

Staff at housebuilder Charles Church are celebrating after one of their most popular East Anglian sites has scooped a third major industry award.

The Local Authority Building Control awards named Paul Tull as National Site Manager of the Year for his exceptional work at the Wentworth Gardens development in Norwich.

The accolade follows on from victory in the 2013 Sunday Times British Homes Build Quality Awards in the Medium Development category and, earlier in the year, the LABC Development of the Year award.

Andrew Fuller, managing director of Charles Church Anglia, said: “Everyone at Charles Church is focused on delivering homes that are built to the highest standards and designed to suit the needs of their specific local community.

“Gaining recognition for that commitment, from the most prestigious industry awards, is a thrilling reward for the hard work, skill and dedication of Paul Tull and his team on site.

“Wentworth Gardens has been an enormously popular site, in a great location close to Norwich city centre and, with award-winning build quality of this kind it is easy to see why it has now almost completely sold out.”

Just five properties remain at Wentworth Gardens – the five bedroom ‘Carnoustie’ style traditional detached property, along with the two bedroom ‘Lytham’ mid terrace house and the ‘St Andrews’ two bedroom bungalows. Price tags range from £179,950 to £359,950.*

The LABC Awards were presented by writer and broadcaster Gyles Brandreth at The Brewery venue in the City of London.

The LABC is a not-for-profit organisation which works with all partners in the construction industry to promote, support and enhance compliance with the building regulations and to improve standards in the building industry.

Sites nominated for LABC awards are visited, audited and shortlisted by LABC’s Warranty Technical Directors against a set list of criteria.

Mike Swatton, business development director for LABC Warranty, added: “From around 2,000 eligible contenders building over 21,000 units with LABC Warranty, Charles Church at their Wentworth Green site have clearly demonstrated their commitment to quality.”
