A lucky team of Essex midwives are celebrating a perfect delivery all of its own – a fleet of green cars from Wolsey Volkswagen.
The Volkswagen retailer supplied Colchester General Hospital with a fleet of 23 fuel-efficient Match Edition Polos.
The deal, worth £346,000 at showroom prices, saw the hospital take delivery of the vehicles this summer, with the majority now being used by midwives for home visits to new mums.
Stuart Filby, Colchester General Hospital’s car leasing manager says the midwives are delighted with their new cars.
He said: “Our midwives cover many miles in their role so it was important for us to choose a vehicle which was safe and reliable but also kind to the environment.
“We chose the Volkswagen 1.2Di Polos based on a number of factors including the low cost using the Government’s procurement services, the good specification of the car, the impressive fuel economy and the great reputation of Wolsey Volkswagen fleet division.”
