Wigan business appoints sales executive during renovation

A Volkswagen retailer has taken on an extra sales executive to help it cope with its flourishing business in the midst of a £1 million renovation.

Dean Atkins, aged 30, joined Corkills Volkswagen earlier this month, bringing with him 11 years of experience in sales, nine of which were in the motor trade.

Having completed a two-year apprenticeship as a mechanic, he realised he wanted to move into a sales-based role. And after a short spell selling insurance he quickly moved back into the motor trade, selling cars at Bentley Citroen and Arnold Clark Renault.

He said he was delighted to now be working at Corkills Volkswagen.

“Volkswagen is such a respected brand; the reliability, quality and unbelievable value is second to none.  I’m a people person so this role is perfect for me. I enjoy interacting with customers and the warm friendly atmosphere at Corkills has made me feel right at home.”

Brand manager, Jacqui Kaye said the company enjoyed an excellent end to 2013 and is now building on that success.

“We had a brilliant year last year and, despite the obstacle of the refurbishment, we are busier than ever.

“As a result we have been able to take on Dean who has already proved to be an asset to the team. We are delighted to have him on board and I am more than confident that his passion and drive will help to grow our business further.”

Corkills Volkswagen is currently undergoing the renovation to improve its facilities and services for customers. The new and improved site is due to open this spring.
