Builder invests in skills as trainees qualify

Trainees with Persimmon Homes East Midlands have been given a huge pat on the back after not only qualifying but getting their own developments to work at.

Former ballet dancer Rebecca Cook, Rebecca Morris and Emma Frost all work for the housebuilder where they have undergone an intensive and thorough training programme to become qualified sales advisors.

Rebecca Cook now has her own development in Cardea, while Rebecca Morris is based at Life 2. Emma is currently working at one of the region’s busiest developments, The Edge, while she waits to be given a new site. All three developments are in Peterborough.

Cheryl Bissett, sales and marketing director for Persimmon Homes East Midlands, said: “To ensure the on-going success of the company, we are constantly strengthening our sales team by investing in the skills we need to grow the business.

“We want fresh people in the industry and these three sales advisors are all keen, very enthusiastic and hard-working.  We are really impressed with their enthusiasm for the job and they want to do well.”

As trainees, they all underwent a comprehensive induction and training programme looking at customer care and construction sites and liaised with independent financial advisors, conveyancers and solicitors. They have also received training on schemes such as the Government-backed Help to Buy, Home Change and Part Exchange.

Cheryl added: “It takes around six months to train a sales advisor.  Excellent customer service is vital for Persimmon Homes, where sales advisors are often the first point of contact for prospective buyers. They can now offer top advice and guide people through the whole buying process making it as straight-forward and stress-free as possible.”
