SELCO SUPPORTS WORLD RECORD ATTEMPT

Selco Builders Warehouse is supporting a world record attempt – by providing 1,260 roof tiles to a former World ITF TaeKwon-Do champion.

Lisa Dennis (40) is attempting to break a Guinness World Record – Fastest time to smash 1,000 roof tiles (female) – and has only 90 seconds to complete the challenge using just her hands!

Lisa approached her local Selco branch in Croydon to assist with the record attempt which takes place on Wednesday (26th March). Paul Asquith, branch manager at Selco Croydon said: “We were thrilled to provide the roof tiles for Lisa to attempt her challenge and wish her good luck and hope that she achieves the record.”

In order to achieve the world record, Lisa will need to complete the challenge in less than 90 seconds. No other woman has ever attempted this and Lisa will be pushing herself to the absolute limit.

BBC Breakfast will be capturing the event on film and broadcasting Lisa’s attempt live to the nation from the venue in Orpington. An official adjudicator from Guinness World Records will also be attending to verify that the guidelines have been followed and to confirm whether or not Lisa has been successful.

The tiles will be arranged in 100 piles of ten and Lisa will need to break around 16 per second to achieve her aim of becoming world record holder.

Lisa said: “This is not an easy record to break but I am feeling very positive. The training I am doing is intense. I have won many National and International TaeKwon-Do titles but gaining a Guinness World Record is my biggest challenge yet. It’s the hardest thing I’ve ever done, but I am determined to be successful.”
