Save £1,400 a year at Mayfields

A leading housebuilder is encouraging homebuyers to buy new at its South Kirkby development in a bid to save more than £1,400 on energy bills.

Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire said today’s buyer needs to consider the cost savings associated with buying a newly-built home at their Mayfields development as opposed to an older equivalent.

Simon Whalley, sales director for Persimmon Homes West Yorkshire, said: “According to recent research by the NHBC (National Housing Building Council), those who live in new build homes built to today’s standards could save more than £1,400 a year on their energy bills when compared to neighbours in older homes.*

“The research indicates that a four-bedroom detached new home, like our Roseberry, could be 57 per cent* cheaper to run than an updated Victorian equivalent. And our three-bedroom semi-detached Hanbury could be 53 per cent* cheaper to run than an older build of the same style.”

Persimmon Homes has predicted that with the £1,400 savings per year estimated by the NHBC, families could save approximately £35,000 over the lifetime of a 25 -year mortgage.

Simon added: “New homes offer enormous cost savings to households, both annually and over the lifetime of a mortgage.

“And while energy efficiency is only one of the advantages of buying a new build property, the potential to save such a large amount of money per year could mean the difference between buying a small home and your forever home.”

Mayfields is a stunning collection of two, three and four-bedroom homes, epitomising the unmistakable quality and style that is synonymous with Persimmon Homes.

The development is located in the popular village of South Kirkby, offering excellent transport links with to Barnsley, Wakefield, Pontefract and South Yorkshire.

Prices at Mayfields start from £108,999**
