Community is invited to contribute to future plans

Persimmon West Midlands is inviting the people of Hednesford and Cannock to contribute to its future plans for the area.

A public exhibition will enable interested parties to view proposals for a development of 450 homes at Pye Green Valley.

Tim Brickley, director in charge, said: “We want to give the public an opportunity to air their views on our reserved matters planning application for this location.

“Our vision for the site is a sustainable urban development of family homes of all sizes to meet the needs of local buyers, including a third which will be designated as affordable housing.

“The plans include improved access to nearby open space and the provision of a play area within the development and aim to encourage the use of pedestrian and cycle routes and public transport.”

The plans will be exhibited at Hednesford Library, Market Street, Cannock, from Friday 30 May until Friday 6 June and feedback can be emailed to westmidlandsconsultation.event@persimmonhomes.com

Tim Brickley added: “Pye Green Valley has been identified for development and currently has an outline planning consent for new housing. As a responsible builder, we want to be certain that our application for the more detailed ‘reserved matters’ aspects of this planning consent are brought to the attention of the local community it will serve.

“Persimmon Homes West Midlands is committed to improving the employment prospects of the region and we anticipate that the development will provide more than 50 full time construction job opportunities and we will be offering apprenticeship schemes for local school leavers.

“We also hope to forge closer links with Pye Green Valley Primary School and other community groups as part of our work in the area, so welcome feedback on the plans from representatives of these organisations.”
