A Wigan business has added strength to its management team with the appointment of a new motoring expert who is happy to take his work home.
Steve Keenan, from Oldham, has been appointed to the role of Service Manager at the brand new Corkills Volkswagen site on Wallgate, bringing with him over 14 years’ experience in the automotive industry.
Steve has admitted that the Volkswagen brand isn’t limited to his work, he spends much of his spare time working on the family Volkswagen Camper van with wife Kirsten and sons, Harry aged 8 and Archie age 6.
The 40-year-old, who joined Corkills at the beginning of June, is no stranger to the Volkswagen brand having worked with the Volkswagen network for over 14 years.
Steve’s automotive career started in a Volkswagen workshop back in 2000 gradually working his way through the parts department, workshop control and then onto service reception. Steve’s career progression and introduction to management started in the parts department which led to his promotion to the role of Aftersales Manager at Manchester Volkswagen.
Speaking of his appointment, Steve said: “I am enjoying the challenge of taking the Corkills Volkswagen team to new successes and providing customers with the level of service that they expect from such a prestigious brand.
“My role is heavily focussed on ensuring that customers get a high standard of service from us whether they come in to have a major service or just need a bit of advice, I will do my very best to ensure that their experience is a positive one.”
