COUPLE BUILDING NEW LIFE AND CAREER WITH REGIONAL HOUSEBUILDER

A young couple from Little Kimble are embarking on a new life together whilst building their careers at the same housing company.

Planner Victoria Frith (29) and trainee site manager Neil Roe (29) have both started new jobs at Persimmon Homes Thames Valley and plan to marry next March.

Victoria joined Persimmon as a graduate planner in October 2012 after gaining a BSc in Architecture and an MSc in Planning at Cardiff University. She took on a position with the company’s technical department in March and is now responsible for designing all aspects of new housing developments during the planning application process for new developments.

One of the most recent developments Victoria was involved in was Prince’s Gate in Hatfield, where fiancé Neil now works alongside recent LABC award winning site manager Mark Ablett.

Victoria says: “It is a very exciting time to be working with the housing market as demand for new homes continues to increase and new developments launch across the Persimmon Homes Thames Valley patch.

“It is nice to know that all of the work we carried out within the department last year to bring the Prince’s Gate development in Hatfield to fruition is being carried on by Neil who is now helping to build the homes we planned.

Victoria and Neil are currently living with Victoria’s parents whilst they save up for their first marital home. Victoria adds: “We had been renting a place together, but we discussed buying our first home together and my parents kindly invited us to move in with them whilst we save for our wedding and a deposit, who knows we may even buy a Persimmon Home!

“We are enjoying planning our wedding and looking forward to our big day in March.” The couple will tie the knot at a church in Little Kimble before celebrating at Notley Tythe Barn near Aylesbury.

Elaine Stratford, PersimmonHomesThamesValley sales and marketing director, said: “Victoria and Neil have joined the housing industry at an extremely opportune time as demand for houses rises and build programmes are speeding up. They have both shown how a career can be built by starting as trainees, working hard and progressing through the company. We wish them both all the best, both in their careers and in married life.”

PersimmonHomesThamesValley is currently selling homes at developments in Hatfield, Haddenham, Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Lane End, Cumnor, Reading and Uxbridge and will be launching new developments in Compton and Stokenchurch in the coming months.

Prince’s Gate, where Neil is based, is a development of 116 homes and apartments with current prices starting from £354,950 for the much sought-after Fontwell four-bedroom home. A new phase of apartments will be released later this year.
