Part Exchange unlocks dream move for couple

When a County Durham couple realised For Sale boards were staying up for a long time in their hometown they decided to opt for a new build and part exchange to make their dream move come true.

Kevin Glasper, 47, and his partner Claire had their hearts set on moving out of their three-bedroom semi in Crook into a large four-bedroom detached with a double garage.

However, moving house seemed a daunting prospect when they realised that an identical property in their street had been on the market for more than a year.

Kevin, an assistant manager of a coal mining company, said: “A lot of the homes around us were rented out rather than being owner occupiers and we realised that we may find it very difficult to actually sell our home.

“At that point we stopped looking at the second hand market and focused on new build. We soon found a great property at Stanley Crook and things could not have been easier.”
