A new homes development in Cumbria is marking the centenary of World War One with the naming of one of its houses.
In commemoration of those who served Great Britain during the First World War, Charles Church Lancashire has decided to give one of its houses at the Clover Fields development the name ‘Poppies View’.
Clover Fields is the first Charles Church development in Carlisle, offering a unique range of three, four and five bedroom executive homes.
Diane Finch, sales and marketing director, said: “Obviously we’ve all been very excited about the new Clover Fields development in Carlisle and we thought the most fitting way to mark the occasion would be to name one of the houses after the image which resonates so deeply with the First World War, the poppy.
“This past week has been particularly moving and poignant with the Lights Out event going on across the country and we thought this would be a nice way to show our respect and appreciation for all those involved in the war.
“The houses are also in a stunning area of untouched countryside with easy access to West Cumbria and the Lake District.”
At the request of the council, two other homes at the site have also been chosen to be named – Clover Fields House and Ferdale House. All three properties face onto Dalston Road.
Ten plots at Clover Fields have already been snapped up off-plan. A showhome is expected later in the year at the site, which offers beautiful views and easy access to the M6 and neighbouring towns.
