It’s all ‘Home Change’ for an Irvine family

A happy family have just settled into their new four bedroom home after successfully selling their previous property in just two weeks thanks to Persimmon Homes’ Home Change initiative.

James and Gillian Hodge moved into their detached Leith style house on Montgomerie View in June after realising that as time passed and their children grew older their previous home near Girdle Toll just couldn’t cope with the changing needs of their family.

Security manager and father of two, James, 37, said: “Our children growing up made our decision to make the move an urgent one.  We knew it wouldn’t be long before they would want bigger bedrooms and more space so that they could invite their friends for sleepovers and we just couldn’t do that in the old house.”

The couple said that the move was only possible thanks to the help and advice they received from Persimmon Homes.  After getting valuations from local estate agents James and Gillian were concerned that their property had been undervalued and turned to Persimmon for help.

Using the Home Change scheme to sell their existing property the couple were delighted to sell their property in just two weeks and get the value that they had expected and needed to help get them moving.

James added: “Persimmon really did make it a stress-free move and our site manager Mark Gracie is an absolute credit to the company – he went above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly for us.”

“In fact everyone we came into contact with at persimmon was great and helped us to make this major step forward so much easier.”

Persimmon Homes West Scotland’s sales director, Ingrid Gahagan, said: “We understand that moving house can be stressfull and offer a range of schemes to make the journey to owning a new home a little easier for buyers.”

James and Gillian, 38, moved in with their children Cole, 6, and Erin, 10, who have remained at the same local school and have already set about making the most of the extra space.

James went on to say: “We have converted out spare bedroom into a games room which means that the children have their own space to play and study.  Erin’s got a pink and white girly bedroom and Cole’s just happy to be in his room playing with his toys – they love the new house as much as we do.

“We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Persimmon Homes to our friends and family in the future.”

Home Change is an initiative where Persimmon Homes helps sell a property for potential clients by arranging valuations, agreeing prices and marketing it on the client’s behalf.
