A leading Volkswagen retailer teamed up with local radio station KLFM to tour the region and offer lucky listeners the chance of winning a £500 cash prize and a brand new car for a week.
Kings Lynn Volkswagen celebrated the launch of the new Volkswagen Polo by exhibiting it across the towns of Wisbech, Hunstanton, Kings Lynn, Downham Market and Fakenham for a week and encouraging members of the public to sign the car in exchange for a chance to win the competition.
Lucky winner, Karen Marsters from Downham Market, was announced live on the station’s Adam Newstead Breakfast Show last month.
As well as winning £500 cash, Karen also won the chance to try out the high-performance Volkswagen Polo for a week.
Karen, a regular listener of KLFM, said she was thrilled to have won the competition.
“I wasn’t expecting it at all so it was a lovely surprise. I’m actually going on holiday in a couple of weeks so it’s great to have some extra spending money.
“As part of the prize, I also got to drive the signed new Polo for a week. It’s a great little car and I’d definitely consider getting one.
“I’ve had a couple of Volkswagens now and I find them really fun to drive. The reliability you get with a Volkswagen is second to none.”
The autographed car also drew a lot of attention from members of the public.
“I took the car to Norwich for a day, visited family in it and even took it to work. It felt quite surreal to have people asking if they could stop and find their signature on it or have their photographs taken with.”
The competition to gather signatures on the car was part of a celebration to launch the new model.
