DRIVING IN A WINTER WONDERVAN

After the first frosts have left their icy sheen and a blast of winter air has been felt, experts at Sinclair Van Centre in Swansea and Cardiff are urging motorists across the region to get their vehicles checked ready for the coldest season of the year.

The Volkswagen Van Centre business is launching a free initiative to help drivers stay safe, warm and mobile when the temperature takes a turn for the worse.

The 29-point Express Visual Check (EVC) aims to ensure vehicles withstand the rigours of the colder weather and help prevent any serious problems occurring.

The complimentary service includes checks on key vulnerable areas such as tyres, wipers, lights and batteries.

Every year national roadside assistance companies report an increase in breakdowns over the winter months – often due to poorly maintained vehicles. The Volkswagen Commercial Vehicle business is hoping to reduce this statistic by providing drivers with a free inspection before they head out onto the roads this winter.

Clive Hopkins, head of business at Sinclair Van Centre in Swansea, said: “Thousands of drivers have been caught out by the severe weather in recent winters. We’re hoping that these free checks will act as a preventative measure as minimising any time that a van is off the road is crucial for our customers.”

The Express Visual Check is available until 28 February 2015 and can be booked in by calling Sinclair Van Centre Swansea on 01792 446500 or the Cardiff site on 02921 150 079.
