New homes for former constabulary site

The country’s leading housebuilder has revealed plans to build much needed new homes in Southampton, after successfully finalising a land deal for an undisclosed sum.

Charles Church South Coast will create 44 new homes on a former Hampshire Constabulary site located at Hulse Road in the city.

Steve O’Halloran, land director for Charles Church South Coast, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to create much-needed new homes for a range of buyers, in a very sought-after area.

“The development, named Banister Court, will comprise eight three-bedroomed houses and two blocks offering one, two and three-bedroomed apartments. The design of the homes is sympathetic to local buildings and we believe the properties will be very popular with local buyers.

“We have considerable experience in regenerating brownfield sites like this one which has lain empty for more than two years and look forward to transforming the location.

“Demolition work is expected to get under way within the month, enabling us to make a start on construction immediately.”

Charles Church acquired the site, on Hulse Road, with detailed planning consent for the 44 homes. The development is ideally placed for a range of owners – from first time buyers to growing families – being close to Southampton city centre and good transport links.

Potential purchasers can register their interest in the development at www.charleschurch.com, ensuring they are kept informed when the properties are released for sale.
