Brand-building and strategy role defined for department head
MAN Truck & Bus UK has appointed Ralf Schueler as marketing director to lead the Swindon-based marketing department.
Ralf has a wealth of experience in the automotive sector, having spent 13 years with Audi and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles in a variety of strategic roles.
He has spent the last eight years as Marketing Director for Akzo Nobel Automotive and Aerospace Coatings in the Netherlands and latterly as Managing Director for the Akzo Nobel Yacht Coating business, based in Houston, Texas.
Announcing Ralf’s appointment at a pivotal point in the company’s development, Simon Elliott, MAN Managing Director, said: “Ralf’s role will be to strengthen our reputation through delivery of a comprehensive image and brand-building marketing plan, as well as developing our marketing strategy.
“Ralf’s experience in the commercial vehicles sector is obviously very important ahead of the launch of the MAN TGE van in 2017, and this combined with his frontline experience in sales, aftersales and management, make him a valuable addition to the MAN team.”
Ralf, who has already taken up his position, added: “I feel it is a fantastic opportunity to join such a prestigious company at a very exciting time.
“There is huge potential to grow and I know I am building on an already very strong platform.
“The launch of the exciting new van will bring more to our range, and I will be drawing on my experience of the commercial vehicle market with this upcoming development.”
