Connect PR and Seal Communications rebrand to create 8848

Connect PR, owner of Seal Communications, has rebranded today to create 8848.

The two businesses will now trade as 8848, a single-minded communications agency focused on delivering exceptional results, without exception.

“We no longer want to be limited by outdated labels,” said managing director, Hazel Crawford. “We see ourselves as a team of channel-hopping communications experts, delivering brand consistency that grows business and drives sales whether this is through PR, content, social media, video, digital or traditional marketing. We want to ensure that our name reflects the tempo of marketing change.”

The name 8848 is inspired by the highest point of Mount Everest, which for many, successfully scaling the world’s highest peak is the ultimate challenge.

The business, which turns over £2 million and employs 25 people, counts Britain’s biggest housebuilder, Persimmon Homes, as a client, and also boasts a growing portfolio of leading brands including MAN Truck & Bus, The West Brom, The Cube, Volkswagen and Autoglym.

8848 will operate from brand new headquarters in Staffordshire, purchased this year with the support of RBS NatWest. The team moved into the newly renovated 1507 farmhouse three weeks ago.

“When we purchased Seal last year we knew we wanted to bring both brands together to create one respected multi-channel agency,” said Hazel.

“We have invested heavily in facilities, which are both inspiring and hugely convenient for the motorway network. We will now work hard to ensure our work continues to be respected by our clients and admired by our peers.”
