Sales rocket on developer’s self-build scheme

Househunters have snapped up 50 per cent of the self-build plots at a sought-after development in Gosforth.

Twenty of the 39 serviced plots at Charles Church’s development Elmwood Park Green at Newcastle Great Park have been sold with more expected to go in the coming weeks.

Self-build gives buyers the freedom to design and construct their own home, which can be up to three storeys high. The plots come me in five different sizes to suit various budgets with essential work such as utilities and telecommunication already completed for the customer.

When completed Elmwood Park Green will be part of an exciting new residential area at Newcastle Great Park which will consist of 2,500 homes. It is situated on the A1 giving easy access to Newcastle city centre and the north. The project will also include a high quality retail and business park as well as health, leisure and community facilities.

Half of the 1,200 acre site is also being landscaped to create a mix of woodland and meadowland with hills, vales and streams.
