Black Country law makes a meal out of festive donations

Donations from a West Midlands’ law firm will help to provide 804 meals to vulnerable individuals and families in crises festive season.

Volunteers from Higgs & Sons delivered the food and toiletries to the Black Country Food Bank, with all items donated by colleagues.

A spokesman from the Black Country Foodbank said: “Thank you so much for collecting and donating 402kgs of food and 30.6kgs of toiletries for families and individuals in crisis. This donation will provide 804 meals.

“This is a brilliant amount and you should be very proud of each other. We will use your donation to continue our work providing food parcels for local individuals and families in your local community. Thank you.”

Sarah Webb, Partner at Higgs, said: “We were delighted to play our part in helping the most vulnerable people in our society – particularly at this time of year.

“This was a tremendous effort by everyone at Higgs & Sons and knowing that our donation will provide more than 800 meals is fantastic.

“Corporate social responsibility is an important part of our culture and embraced across the practice. We are committed to being actively involved in our local community and are doing our best to help the Foodbank, in any way we can – from volunteering to donating basic food supplies that most of us take for granted.”

The Black Country Foodbank helps vulnerable individuals and families in crisis through the provision of three days emergency food supplies while a longer-term solution is developed.
