Achieving mouth-watering results with food photography

8848’s latest food photoshoot brought together a photographer, art director and food stylist to showcase a new range of slow-cooked ready meals.

Pro-Pak Foods is a major supplier of delicious ready meals to many of the UK’s leading supermarkets and convenience stores. The company, based in Malton, North Yorkshire, has built an excellent reputation over the last 25 years. Today, its chefs have created a menu of more than 200 quality meals and the business makes 150,000 meals a day.

The latest photoshoot captured a new range of slow-cooked products including BBQ pork ribs, BBQ pulled pork and beef brisket.

Look out for the new range in retailers in the coming weeks.

Techniques to try at home to get mouth-watering images

Social media platforms like Instagram and Pinterest have made it easier for people to share food photos with a wider audience. This has created a demand for high-quality food photography that can capture viewers’ attention. If you’re looking to add social media followers with your own food photography here are a few suggestions to try at home.

Use natural light

Natural light is the best light for food photography because it is soft and diffused, which helps to create a natural and appealing look. If you are shooting indoors, try to find a spot near a window or use a light diffuser to soften the light.

Take time to arrange your food

Take some time to arrange your food in a way that is visually appealing. Think about the colours, textures, and shapes of the food and how they can be used to create a pleasing composition.

Use a tripod

A tripod will help to keep your camera steady, which is important for getting sharp photos.

Experiment with different angles

Don’t be afraid to experiment with different angles when shooting food. A high angle can make food look more delicate, while a low angle can make it look more inviting. You can also try shooting from a side angle to show off the different textures of the food.
