Persimmon Homes plans 28 million pound development in Worcester

A South Midlands house builder has successfully secured a piece of land off Bransford Road in Worcester.

Persimmon Homes South Midlands purchased the 10 acre site known locally as the former Kays Catalogue distribution depot. With the land deal complete, work will start on the development of the 158 new houses in October 2013.

The £28 million pound development to be known as Persimmon Heights will consist of a mix of two, three and four bedroom houses providing much-needed places to live for local people and families.

Having already secured planning consent from Worcestershire City Council’s planning committee, the homes are expected to available to purchase from early 2014.

Richard Oldroyd, managing director at Persimmon Homes South Midlands confirmed: “This particular piece of land has remained dormant since 2006 and we are keen to put the space to good use.

“The existing community will benefit from the creation of quality new houses which will, in turn, create jobs for local people.”

In addition to the new properties the local area development will also benefit from the Section 106 contributions made by Persimmon Homes that will help to fund education and public open spaces in the area.
