A Surrey retailer is bucking the current economic trend after announcing a rise in sales for the first three months of 2011.
Guildford-based Colbornes Volkswagen Van Centre has seen overall van sales up by 59 per cent, compared to the same period in 2010.
New vehicle sales rose by 110 per cent and approved used vehicles by 16 per cent.
Steve Cass, head of business at Colbornes Volkswagen Van Centre, said: “We are delighted to have seen such an increase in business during this challenging time.
“Customer confidence, competitive prices, a strong brand and fantastic residual value are the main reasons for the increase, something we hope will continue for the rest of this year.
“Overall the business is performing in excess of current targets, something we are confident will continue.”
In addition to the successful start to sales this year, the Slyfield Industrial Estate retailer’s workshop saw business increase by 83 per cent.
Steve added: “The increase in business in the service department is as a result of Volkswagen’s continued free servicing packages on selected new vehicles and the extremely competitive and successful national service pricing campaign.
“We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional customer service. Our aim is to understand customers’ needs so we can find the right vehicle or service plan to meet their needs.
“It is pleasing to see this ethos is providing customers with reasons to choose us.”
